Project map

The project map is a map of your code. It shows which files there are, what's in them, what each part does and how they connect. The agents use it to find the right spot quickly, without reading the whole project every time. That saves time and tokens.

Open the Project map page (button on the left).

Map tab

  • Click Build map (the first time) or Rebuild. Coodoo reads your code; this takes anywhere from a few seconds to a minute.
  • The map shows files as dots in layers, with lines between files that use each other. The core of your project is in the middle.
  • Search for a topic, function or file, for example login.
  • Click a file for the details: What's inside (functions, parts), Uses (what it depends on) and Used by.
  • Explain tells you in plain language how to read the map.

The agents get the map as a tool (an MCP server) when Use the project map is on in Autopilot settings. At the top of the page you can see how often they asked the map something, and what for.

Coodoo keeps the map up to date while you work: when a file changes, it only rereads that file.

Search by meaning

The agents find code not only by name, but also by what it does. When an agent asks "where is the email with the new password sent", it also finds a function called mailResetLink, even though the word password isn't in it.

  • A small AI model does this, running on your own computer. Your code goes nowhere.
  • Coodoo downloads the model once, about 160 MB. Then it indexes your code in the background; the map and search by words already work in the meantime.
  • The top of the page shows how it's going, for example Search by meaning: on.
  • The model can't run on a Mac with an Intel chip. There, the agents search by words only.

Tip: like most code, the model mainly knows English. When you search the map yourself, prefer English words, such as login or payment.

Lessons tab

The team learns from mistakes. When the reviewer rejects something, or a step fails, Coodoo writes down a lesson. Next time the agents get those lessons, so they don't make the same mistake again.

  • Here you see all lessons per project.
  • Add a lesson yourself: tell the team something it should remember, for example "Always use Dutch text in the interface". Click Save lesson.
  • Remove lesson deletes a lesson that's no longer right.

The map and the lessons are stored in Coodoo's own folder, not in your repository.
