Build Profile

Step 4 turns the measurements into an ICC (or ICM) profile.

You should only be here when the folder already has a .ti3 for this basename. The button will not invent measurements.

Settings

  • Type. For a printer, stay on a lookup-table type (Lab cLUT or XYZ cLUT) unless you have a reason to build a matrix profile. Display XYZ plus matrix is not the usual printer choice.
  • Quality. Low and Medium are for short tests. High is the usual final setting. Ultra is slower and is for when the chart is large and you want every last bit of smoothness.
  • Illuminant, observer, and viewing conditions. Leave these on the preset unless you are matching a specific viewing booth. Choose none on a viewing-condition slot to skip it.
  • Spectrum file. Optional. Only if you have a measured illuminant file and know why you are attaching it.

Calibration curve

Apply calibration curve includes a .cal file from Calibrate Printer in this profile.

Browse if the path is empty. The app will not apply a file whose name is still a live CAL_ session. Return from the calibration screen first.

You can build a profile with the toggle off. Many sessions do.

Create Profile

The button runs the profiler. On success:

  • An .icc or .icm file appears in the folder.
  • The app tries to write a matching .gam file for the 3D viewer.
  • Step 5 unlocks.

If the extra gamut file fails, you still have a profile. Gamut Viewer will tell you when a mesh is missing.

If the profiler fails, you stay on step 4. The banner shows the reason. An older ICC in the folder is not deleted just because this run failed.

What to do next

Open step 5 and verify before you install. A profile that builds is not automatically a profile you should print photographs with. Verification is the check against the chart you measured.
