Settings
Open Settings from the gear at the top of the sidebar. Click Save to keep changes. Cancel closes the sheet and throws away edits.
Nothing in Settings starts a profile on its own. The values here are defaults and thresholds the other screens use.
The sheet is a single column. Good and Warning sit on one row in Verification; both fields stay inside the sheet.
- Tool folder. Leave this blank to use the tools that come with ICCery. Browse only if you have been told to point at another copy. ICCery will not search your system path for random tools of the same name.
- Default instrument. None, or a named device (for example X-Rite i1Pro / i1Pro 2). When that device is plugged in, Measure Chart and Spot Read offer it first. This does not change the instrument drawn on the chart in step 2. That choice stays on Lay Out and Print.
- Enable i1 Pro 2 LEDs. Off unless you want the extra lamp flag on instruments that support it.
If a saved default is unplugged, Spot Read reports Saved default instrument not present and the menu stays on Auto.
- Good delta E. Default 2.0. Labelled Good delta E is less than or equal to.
- Warning delta E. Default 5.0. Must be strictly higher than Good, or Save reports an error.
These two numbers colour the status on step 5, the swatches on step 3, and the delta E display in Spot Read. Fail is anything above Warning. They are your bar for "good enough", not a law of colour science. Tighten them if you print demanding work. Loosen them slightly if you are only checking that a pipeline runs.
- Stale after N days. Default 30. A media recipe whose calibration file is older than this shows Calibration stale. The file is still usable. The caption is a reminder to rerun Calibrate Printer if the printer or ink has moved.
- Install location. User library or System library. See Verify and Install.
- Ask before overwriting a profile.
- Open ColorSync after install.
- Log level (Default, or a named level).
- Open log folder.
- Copy path.
- Copy excerpt. Recent lines, suitable for a short bug report.
You do not need the log folder for ordinary profiling. Use it when something fails and the on-screen banner is not enough.
