Projects
A project file (extension .icceryproj) is a bookmark. It remembers the name of the work, your notes, the working folder, the basename, the printer, the preset, an optional media recipe, and the last verification numbers.
It does not contain the charts, measurements, or the ICC file. Those stay in the working folder as ordinary files. If you copy a project file to another Mac without copying the folder, ICCery can open the bookmark but it cannot continue the profile until you point it at the files.
Use a project when you will return to the same paper. Opening the project restores the folder and basename so you do not have to hunt for last month's .ti3.
You can work without a project. The five steps still run. You just have nothing to double-click later.
File > New Project. Confirm the alert.
- The previous project is detached.
- The basename field is cleared.
- The working folder you already chose is kept.
- Media goes back to No media recipe.
- Steps 2 to 5 lock until you generate or open a target again.
New Project does not delete files on disk. Your old .icc is still in its folder.
File > Open Project, or Open on the sidebar chip. Choose a .icceryproj file.
ICCery then:
- Sets the basename and working folder from the file.
- Applies the stored media recipe if that recipe still exists in your library. If the recipe was deleted, it applies the stored preset instead.
- Looks at the folder and unlocks every step the files allow.
- Adds the file to Open Recent (up to twenty entries).
If the working folder path no longer exists, a sheet titled Missing project folder asks you to Choose Folder. Cancel leaves the window as it was.
If the file is not a version this app understands, it is refused and nothing in the window changes.
Save writes the attached project file. It stays disabled when:
- no project is attached
- the basename is empty
- the working folder is empty
- you are in the middle of printer calibration with a temporary
CAL_name (return from Calibrate Printer first) - an instrument session is still running
Save As always asks where to put {basename}.icceryproj. After a successful write, that path becomes the attached project.
There is no automatic save when you change step. If the title shows a filled circle after the name, save before you quit if you want the bookmark to match the live session.
New, Open, and Close ask Save / Don't Save / Cancel when the project is out of date.
File > Save Report writes {basename}-report.md in the working folder. It lists the name, printer, recipe, which files exist, and the last delta E figures. There is no preview. Running it again overwrites the previous report.
Close Project detaches the bookmark and keeps the live basename, folder, and files.
Open Recent > Clear Menu forgets the list. It does not delete project files on disk.
Show in Finder on the chip reveals the project file, not the working folder.
The sidebar chip shows this when the project file describes a later stage than the folder can support. Example: the project says a profile exists, but there is no .icc in the folder. Trust the folder. Rebuild or copy the missing file. Saving the project again records what is actually there.
