The Main Window

The main window

ICCery uses a single window. The layout is the same on every step so you always know where to look.

The window is designed for a desktop or a large laptop. It opens around 1280 by 800 pixels and will not shrink below about 1100 by 700.

Title

  • ICCery means no project is attached.
  • ICCery - MyPaper means a project file is attached. The name is the project name.
  • A filled circle after the name means the live session has changed since you last saved the project. Use File > Save Project.

Left sidebar

The sidebar is a fixed column.

Top buttons

  • Gear opens Settings.
  • Info opens the About box (application name, version, build date).
  • Question mark turns help labels on or off for the nearby controls. Turn them off when you want a clear picture of the window.

Preset

A pop-up list of chart and profile settings. Choosing a name applies those settings at once. Save stores what is on screen as a custom preset. Manage opens the list so you can export, import, or delete custom rows. Built-in rows cannot be deleted. See Presets and Media.

Media

A pop-up list of paper recipes: printer plus paper name plus ink plus the preset and optional calibration file that go with them. Capture stores the current combination. Manage lists, applies, and deletes recipes. See Presets and Media.

Calibrate Printer

Opens the optional printer-curve workflow. It is not one of the five numbered steps. See Calibrate Printer.

View Gamut

Opens the 3D colour-range window. You can open it even before you have a printer profile. In that case you only see the sRGB reference. See Gamut Viewer.

Spot Read

Opens a sheet that reads one patch at a time. It needs a working folder. It is disabled while a full chart is being measured on step 3. See Spot Read.

Steps 1 to 5

The numbered control is the main path.

  1. Generate Target
  2. Lay Out and Print
  3. Measure Chart
  4. Build Profile
  5. Verify and Install

A dimmed number is locked. Clicking an unlocked number only changes the right-hand page. It does not start a measurement or a print.

Project chip

The block at the bottom of the sidebar shows the attached project, or No project. Open, Save, and Show in Finder live here as well as in the File menu. If the files in the folder do not match what the project file describes, the chip says Disk behind project notes. See Projects.

Right-hand page

This is the current step. Controls for that step only. A notice banner, when present, sits at the top of this area so you see it before you click anything else.

File menu

Command Typical use
New Project Start a fresh bookmark. Does not delete printed charts or profiles.

Save Project Write the attached project file.
Save Project As Write a new project file and attach it.
