Cooking Pot

The cooking pot is where most meals are made: soups, stews, rice dishes, pasta, salads, teas, coffee and cheese. It has twelve food slots, four spice slots and one output slot, plus its own water tank.

Using it

1. Place the pot on a heat source. Without heat nothing cooks.
2. Right-click it with a water bucket. The tank holds 8 levels, and each dish that needs water uses one. Creative players keep their bucket.
3. Put the ingredients into the food slots and the seasoning into the spice slots. The order doesn't matter.
4. A dish takes about 6 seconds. The pot keeps cooking as long as the ingredients last and the output has room.

The pot always picks the recipe that uses the most of what you put in. Cactus flesh and mint make cactus juice, not mint tea, even though mint alone would already be a recipe. Extra items that no recipe needs simply stay in their slots.

Recipe quality

Every recipe has a quality: Basic, Good, Perfect or Legendary. The simple recipes use raw herbs, the better ones ask for ground spices from the Mortar or more ingredients. Some dishes can be made at two qualities from different spice sets, others have their own upgraded version (Lettuce Soup and Herbal Lettuce Soup, for example). The dishes with buffs are almost always Perfect or Legendary. The cookbook in the pot screen shows the quality next to each recipe.

Clean water

Put glass bottles into the pot while it has water and heat, and you get boiled water. It is safe to drink and restores more thirst than river water. A canteen used on a hot pot with water is filled with clean water too. See Water and Hydration.
