Serving Food

Dishes don't have to stay in your inventory. You can put them on a table, a counter or any solid block and eat them from there.

Putting a dish down

Hold the dish, sneak and right-click the top of a block. The dish appears on the block, turned towards you.

It needs a full, solid top. Counters, stone, planks and most full blocks work; slabs, stairs, fences, snow, leaves, ice, magma blocks and water don't.

Every food of this mod can be placed, and so can bread, cookies, pies, stews, apples, baked potatoes, cooked meat and fish and honey bottles. Server owners can allow more items and more surfaces (for example the tables of a furniture mod) with food_placement_extra_items and food_placement_extra_surfaces on Configuration.

Eating it

Right-click a placed dish to eat it. It works exactly like eating from your hand: hunger, buffs, hydration and the diet all count. Bowls and bottles go back into your inventory. If you're not hungry, the dish stays where it is.

Picking it up

Break the block and the dish drops as an item again.
