My crops stopped growing!

Check the season. Most crops do not grow in winter, and in summer they only grow on wet farmland, so they need water nearby. Look at the seed tooltip to see in which seasons a crop grows. See Crops and Farming.

Sleeping does not move the calendar forward. Is that a bug?

No. By default the calendar counts the days the server actually ran (calendar_time_source=world_age). If you want sleeping and /time to advance the calendar, set calendar_time_source=day_cycle. See Seasons and Calendar.

How long is one season?

28 Minecraft days by default, which is about 9 hours and 20 minutes of play. Change it with days_per_season.

How do I start in winter (or any other season)?

Use /season set winter 1 as an operator or as the host of a singleplayer world. See Commands.

Why is there no snow inside my house?

That is on purpose. Snow is only placed on the top-most block of a spot, so it never appears under roofs, in caves or on lower floors.

My pond froze. How do I keep water open in winter?

Place a torch within about 4 blocks of the water. Water under a roof also stays liquid. Or turn freezing off with winter_freeze_water=false.

I keep getting Slowness in winter.

You are too cold. Stand near a heat source (torch, lantern, campfire, furnace), wear leather armour, or hold a torch in your hand, which also gives you Speed. See Temperature.

I get Weakness in summer.

You are too hot. Go into the shade, under a roof or underground. Deep caves are always safe from heat. Deserts, savannas and badlands are extra hot.

The snow in snowy biomes melted in spring!

It should not. Naturally cold biomes keep their snow and ice all year. Only snow that the winter added elsewhere melts again.

Can I turn off the temperature effects?

Yes. temperature_effects_enabled=false turns off all player effects. You can also only turn off the cold effects (winter_temperature_debuffs_enabled=false) or the heat effects (summer_temperature_debuffs_enabled=false).

Can I keep vanilla weather?

Yes, with season_weather_enabled=false.

Where is the HUD? How do I move or hide it?

Top left by default. Press K, open the ⚙ HUD tab and use the arrow buttons or Toggle HUD Overlay.

The HUD says "Waiting for server sync...".

The client has not received the calendar yet. This normally only shows for a moment after joining. If it stays, make sure Season System is installed on the server too.

"You need OP level 2 or singleplayer/console access to use this debug command."

Admin commands need OP level 2. In a LAN world, only the host can use them without OP.

"Snow debug commands are disabled."

Set debug_commands_enabled=true in seasonsystem.properties and run /season reloadconfig.

Does it work in the Nether or the End?

Seasonal effects only happen in the Overworld. The Nether and the End stay as they are.

How do I add crops from my favourite food mod?

Add them to config/seasonsystem-crops.json. See Crop Profiles.

My config changes do nothing.

Run /season reloadconfig or restart. Options marked (client) in the Configuration have to be changed in each player's own config, not on the server.
