Breeding and Babies
Since 2.0, 17 creatures breed and raise babies. Breeding works like with vanilla animals: right-click two adults of the same kind with their food, they show hearts, and a baby appears.

Raccoons and otters only breed when both parents are tamed. Their babies belong to the same owner. See Taming.
Do not breed: shark, jellyfish, mussel, scorpion, butterfly and firefly.
Feeding a bear, crocodile or panther sounds dangerous. To make it possible, predators ignore players that hold their food in the main or off hand. If you hit them first, they fight back as usual.
- Every creature has its own baby model, not just a shrunk adult: spotted fawns, striped piglets, fluffy owlets, yellow ducklings, cubs, pups and chicks. Baby animations are quicker and bouncier.
- Babies grow up after 48000 ticks (two Minecraft days). Vanilla animals need one day. You can change this with
breeding.babyGrowUpTicksin the Configuration. - Feeding a baby its food makes it grow up faster, like vanilla babies.
- Babies follow their parents, never attack and run away when they get hurt.
- Bred babies never despawn.
Two tamed raccoons have a litter of 1 to 3 babies instead of a single one. The litter size is set by breeding.raccoonMinLitterSize and breeding.raccoonMaxLitterSize.
Ducks also have a second way to get babies: they lay a Duck Egg every 5 to 10 minutes. Throw it like a chicken egg and a baby duck may hatch: one in 8 eggs hatches, and now and then four babies come out at once.
Before 2.0 there was a separate "Duckling" creature. Ducklings are now simply baby ducks, and old ducklings in your world turn into baby ducks automatically.
Set breeding.enableBreeding to false in the config. Animals then no longer fall in love. Babies that already exist still grow up.
