ACiD Trip

The name of the sixth Blocktronics artpack, released in their big "we're back!" year of 2013, this collection was explicitly conceived as a tribute to the '90s underground artscene dominance of ACiD, under the curation of ACiD's founder RaDMaN. It contained a lot of great ANSI art made by a lot of ACiD alumni.

Notably, this occasion also gave its name to a Very Large joint scroller made in a networked PabloDraw session (it ultimately needed to be stitched together from two parallel sessions, as it collectively exceeded PD's limit at that time of 2048 lines) by a bevy of Blocktronics members (23 from 6 different countries). This piece was included in the artpack after winning (with a perfect score of 100) the ANSI compo at the 2013 installment of CMU's [Demosplash] demoparty. (The trophy from that party went on a victory tour by mail to spend time with all of the ACiD Trip contributors, but it was eventually lost en route and has not yet turned up again.) Measuring 3266 lines in total, it took the record at that time for the single longest ANSI art scroller ever drawn, a record smashed the following year by Blocktronics' [WTF4] megajoint.
