An offshoot of the [video art] movement of the late '60s and '70s, videopoems had a much more underwhelming rush out the start gate than did their peers in the music video business. Nevertheless, by the early '90s videopoetry was a concern among [net.art] practitioners and locally in area code 604 its torch was held high by [the Edgewise electrolit centre].

For a decade and a half, staring in 1999, the [Pacific Cinematheque] would host videopoem screenings at the [Visible Verse] festival dedicated to this fringe artform. Along with numerous other experimental poets, occasional Mist contributor Queen of Crows was one creator in the medium.
