Moebius

Possibly the preeminent [ANSI art editor] of the modern era, [Andy Herbert]'s software creation Moebius launched on June 6, 2019 featuring promotional art by [Burps] of [Fuel] and [Alpha King] of Blocktronics, and picked up where PabloDraw left off (note: Eto never pulled the plug on PD, but updates are few and far between, and the project is closed source so there are stretches of years where it can look conspicuously dead), notably also featuring networked group drawing for joints (we maintain the Mistigris networked Moebius server at rabioli.ca password: mistifunk, consider joining in!) and [XBIN] support for remapped characters and fonts.

As an Electron app, Moebius can run easily on Windows, Mac and Linux machines, though it initially launched as an Apple exclusive. (Grymmjack innovated a trick on Apple hardware allowing artists to run Moebius on a Mac computer and remotely communicate input and output with an iPad screen being drawn on with an Apple stylus, yielding the world's first specific ANSI art tablet arrangement.) At the time of its introduction, the quality it touted as distinguishing it from the competition was "the 'half-block' brush which allows editing in a style closer to Photoshop than a text editor".

While it is not currently being actively developed further by AndyH (Mission accomplished!), because Moebius is open-source, it has been forked many times in many different ways to shoehorn in further needs specific users have wanted to add to it.
