In a general sense, "leech"ing is simply downloading a file. More broadly, a leech is a parasitic underground BBS user who downloads more than he uploads. "Leech access" is when a BBS gives special users unmetered download ability, unfettered by the concerns of upload/download ratios that trouble less fortunate users. Sometimes elite underground computer artists could receive compensation for computer art advertisements for said underground BBSes in the form of leech access on those BBSes.
