The routine for one chapter, condensed. Detail lives on the other pages in this section.
- Define a canvas profile for each page size you draw at
- Generate a template for each profile that uses margins
- Put the templates somewhere the iPad can reach
- Create the project in Platemaker
- Decide where its output will go
→ Projects
- Create each canvas at the profile's absolute size
- Import the template; draw underneath it
- Keep anything that matters inside the safe area
- Export finished pages as PNG, sRGB to Drive as you go
You do not have to wait for the chapter to be finished.
- Add the pages exported so far to the project
- Check the order
- Render, and look at the slices — do the pages cut where you expected? Has detail survived the scale-down?
Re-rendering later is cheap; only what changed is redone.
- Add the cover as the first input
- Confirm the order once more
- Check every tile is matched and none is being skipped
- Render
- Check the total size of the output folder against the platform's per-chapter cap — expect to adjust compression and render again
- Save the workspace
→ File statuses, Output profiles
- Upload the slices
- Confirm the order on the platform
- Add the thumbnail
