What is instance

Instance is a virtual server in the cloud that provides compute power, offering scalability, flexibility, and cost efficiency compared to traditional physical servers.

It behaves like a computer/server where you can:

  • Install applications
  • Run software
  • Host websites
  • Store and process data

An instance is created using:

  • 🧠 CPU (OCPU) → processing power 1 OCPU=2 Virtual CPU

  • 🧮 Memory (RAM)

  • 💾 Storage (Block Volume / Boot Volume)

  • 🌐 Network (VCN, Subnet, IP)

  • 🖥️ Operating System (Linux/Windows)
