Lab :31 Port reachability within subnet(telnet)

ping

Ping is a network utility command used to check whether a system/server/device is reachable over a network.

ping <hostname/IP>

Steps to test ping command in OCI.

Trying to connect with this public Ip from putty

Its not going to connect as we have not define the Ingres rule

Adding Ingress rule for Ping

Will get the IP of our laptop by using below link and add the derived IP to the ingress rule

Telnet is a network utility/tool used to test connectivity between systems over a network using the TCP protocol additionally it helps to check whether a specific port/service on a server is reachable and open.

telnet <hostname/IP> <port>

Checking google.com with telnet command:

Not working as Egress is not updated:

Will install the telnet as command is not found

yum install telnet
