What is a Compartment in OCI?
A Compartment is like a folder inside your cloud account where you organize and control resources.
👉 Think of it as:
A container to group resources (VMs, databases, networks, etc.)
A way to manage access and permissions
A tool to separate environments (like Dev, Test, Prod)
** Simple Real-Life Analogy**
Imagine your cloud account is a company office building:
The building = your OCI tenancy
Each department (HR, Finance, IT) = Compartments
Files and equipment inside each department = Resources
Each department has:
Its own access rules ✅
Its own resources ✅
We can create compartments like:
Dev
Testing
Production

🏢 Real-World Example: Amazon
Think of Amazon as a big company with multiple teams:
🛒 Shopping Website Team
💳 Payments Team
📦 Logistics Team
📊 Analytics Team
👉 In OCI, each of these teams would have its own Compartment
