Pets and Abilities

The stat labels: maximum health, attack, armor, speed, hit/miss, and XP. Cropped from an earlier-build screenshot; current layout may differ.
| Stat | What it means in play |
|---|---|
| Maximum health | The size of the pet's health pool. Current health determines how much it can survive right now. |
| Attack | The starting strength of attacks. Ability multipliers, armor, and other effects affect the damage that lands. |
| Armor | Reduces incoming attack damage. A larger percentage generally means better protection. |
| Speed | Helps determine action order. It is not simply a displayed number of attacks per second. |
| Hit and miss chance | An attack can miss. Check the displayed chance rather than assuming every swing lands. |
| XP | Progress toward the next pet level, until the trainer's current pet-level cap. |
Hover a stat for an explanation of that pet's actual value. Settings → short stat tooltips provides the compact version. The current expanded panel separates base values, green equipment bonuses, blue trainer bonuses, and the total. This breakdown helps explain why two pets with similar levels perform differently; different species also have family strengths.
Pet qualities are Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. Higher rarity improves the same species' base health, attack, and armor. It is an advantage, not a guarantee of victory over better-trained or better-equipped opponents.
New pets also have individual rolls for health, attack, armor, and speed. Enable roll ranges in Settings to compare the rolled value with its possible range. Perfect-roll labels highlight gold; top-10% rolls highlight silver. Reduced Motion keeps the colors without flashing.
An older pet may retain its original, fixed stats instead of having a new roll record. That is intentional. An update or a trade does not reroll its strength.
| Pet quality | Ability slots |
|---|---|
| Common or Uncommon | No special ability |
| Rare | One random ability |
| Epic or Legendary | Two different random abilities |
Two pets of the same species can roll different abilities. Two copies of an ability can also have different strength, so inspect the pet you found instead of assuming every copy is identical.
Hover an ability icon to learn what your companion actually rolled. Ability names, effects, and individual strengths are yours to discover as you collect pets.
Styles influence how often offensive specials are attempted. Abilities share a three-turn cooldown. In normal mode, the Heal control can use a ready healing special instead of an herb; hover it to check. An ability's name is flavor—the effect text tells you whether it actually freezes, heals, hits multiple targets, or does something else.
Collection records discovered species and their highest found rarity. Trading or retiring an individual keeps that discovery. Secret species remain absent until found. Their identities and discovery routes are intentionally not listed here.
