Tables and charts

Organize data in tables and charts. Beta 4 has basic tables from Phase 4, and smart tables, charts, formulas, and alternative views from Phase 7. Everything except start-up is untested by hand, so check the test checklist before you rely on a feature.

Tables

Feature Status
Basic tables Built. Rows and columns of text in a page.
Smart tables Built. Columns can be text, numbers, dates, checkboxes, or other types.
Sorting and filters Built. Sort on several columns, and filter rows.
Formulas and totals Built. Formulas in cells, calculated columns, and a totals row.
Paste from Excel or CSV Built. Paste data into a smart table.
Board, calendar, gallery, and timeline Built. Show the same rows in other views. Dragging a card changes its field.
Quick math Built. Add numbers at the bottom of a column.

All views share the same rows, so a chart made from the table stays in step. The app can sort and redraw a 1,000-row table with its chart within 100 ms.

Charts

Feature Status
Bar, line, area, pie, and scatter charts Built. Make one from a table in two clicks.
Live updates Built. The chart updates when the table changes.
Accessible colors Built. Charts use the brand palette, with patterns for readers who can't tell colors apart.
Vector export Built. Charts export as sharp vector graphics in PDF.
Accessible charts Built. Charts work with screen readers.
Chart tables Built. Turn cells into a table.

The brand palette and patterns ensure charts are readable to everyone.

Accessible charts

Planned for Phase 7. Every chart gets an editable text summary of its type, axes, range, trend, and highest and lowest values. Arrow keys step through data points and read their values. "Show as table" is always one click away.

Diagrams and mind maps

Planned for Phase 7.

Feature What it does
Diagrams from text A short text description draws a flowchart, sequence diagram, timeline, or class diagram on your device. Editing the text redraws it.
Mind maps Type an outline and see a mind map, or build the map with the keyboard or pen. Tab adds a child branch and Enter adds a sibling.
Shape libraries Shapes can hold text, and libraries add flowchart, network, and entity diagram shapes

Diagrams export as vector graphics and carry alt text.
