Dry Run and Cleanup

Preview

Select eligible rows and choose Dry run. It resolves the selection against the scan and current safety rules without moving, restoring, purging or deleting the selected data. It does not reserve the paths against later changes.

Review each row's intended action. A mixture of ordinary folders, blocked items and datasets may produce different outcomes.

Dev 2026.09.19.13+: the preview summarizes expected folder quarantines, folder deletes, dataset roots and unchanged rows. Its space explanation distinguishes moving folders from deleting them and notes that ZFS snapshots/shared space affect reclaimed capacity.

Execute

With Safe Mode on, confirm the quarantine action for eligible folders. With it off, explicitly confirm permanent deletion. Dataset destruction follows the ZFS-specific impact review.

Do not use browser refresh or closing the dialog as proof that a server operation was cancelled. If communication is interrupted, check History, rescan, and inspect Quarantine before retrying.

Results

Read per-item statuses. Partial success is possible: one item may complete while another is skipped, blocked or fails. A stale snapshot, new container mount, missing source or failed rename can change the outcome from the preview.

Dev 2026.09.19.13+: results group completed, skipped/blocked and failed entries, provide next steps and retain failed cleanup selections for review. Retry still performs normal validation.

Retry safely

1. Check History and the current source/quarantine state.
2. Correct the reported condition without weakening ownership safeguards.
3. Rescan if the snapshot or filesystem changed.
4. Preview the remaining selection again.
5. Retry only those remaining items.

Permanent deletion and purge cannot be undone by the plugin. A dry run does not create a backup. See Quarantine and Restore and ZFS Datasets.
