Tools and Test Fixtures

Tools

The Tools dialog contains Download diagnostics, technical collection details and test-fixture controls. Diagnostics are downloaded as a file; there is no Copy diagnostics text or Copy support summary control.

Saved-template maintenance has its own action-bar entry. See Saved Template Cleanup.

Fixtures

Fixture tools create safe, namespaced test folders for validating scan, selection, dry run, quarantine and deletion. The reviewed UI uses names such as:

  • acp-test-empty
  • acp-test-folder
  • acp-test-template

Review the displayed fixture root and status. Refresh reloads fixture state; Create fixtures and Remove fixtures are explicit changes. Removal is limited to the managed fixture workflow, not arbitrary appdata.

Do not repurpose fixture names for real application data. Inspect fixture status if a name already exists rather than assuming it is disposable.

Suggested smoke workflow

Create fixtures on recoverable test storage, rescan, inspect their detection reasons, and dry-run a small selection. With Safe Mode on, test quarantine and restore. Test deletion only on the disposable fixtures and inspect History afterwards.

Automatic ZFS fixture creation is intentionally absent. Real dataset creation/destruction requires a separately prepared disposable test dataset and owner supervision.

Automated repository tests use isolated synthetic fixtures; they must never be pointed at live server data. See Developer Guide.
