Installation and Updates

Requirements

Unraid 7.0.0+ is the supported platform. Docker inventory and saved-template access are part of ownership verification. ZFS actions additionally require working ZFS tools and exact dataset resolution. Bundled translations require no runtime translation service or additional PHP Intl extension.

Install stable

Use Community Applications to find Appdata Cleanup Plus, or open Plugins → Install Plugin and paste this URL:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/alexphillips-dev/Appdata-Cleanup-Plus/main/plugins/appdata.cleanup.plus.plg

Alternatively, run this in the Unraid terminal:

plugin install https://raw.githubusercontent.com/alexphillips-dev/Appdata-Cleanup-Plus/main/plugins/appdata.cleanup.plus.plg

The webGUI field takes the URL; the terminal takes the complete command. Open Settings → Appdata Cleanup Plus after installation.

Install development

Use this URL in Install Plugin:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/alexphillips-dev/Appdata-Cleanup-Plus/dev/plugins/appdata.cleanup.plus.plg

Or run:

plugin install https://raw.githubusercontent.com/alexphillips-dev/Appdata-Cleanup-Plus/dev/plugins/appdata.cleanup.plus.plg

Dev contains changes awaiting stable promotion. See Release Channels.

Update or switch channels

Use Unraid's plugin update controls for the installed channel. To explicitly change channels, install that channel's manifest and verify the resulting version. A dev/test version may be newer than stable; do not assume an update notification will offer a downgrade.

Hard-refresh after JavaScript/CSS changes. Close old dialogs, reopen the plugin and rescan. Returning to older code does not undo cleanup or automatically reverse state-format changes; consult release notes before downgrading.

The registered stable and dev URLs use /main/ and /dev/. Equivalent-looking /refs/heads/ URLs are not the Community Applications identity and should not replace them.

Uninstall

Use Unraid's plugin removal control. The removal script deletes deployed plugin files, its scheduled-purge cron entry and /boot/config/plugins/appdata.cleanup.plus, including settings, tracking, history and saved-template backups.

Quarantined folders live in separate appdata quarantine directories; the removal script does not explicitly delete those directories. Restore or intentionally purge entries before removal where practical, and independently preserve needed template backups. Reinstall recovery of valid quarantine markers/layouts is not a substitute for preserving tracking and backups.

The installer also removes the legacy ca.cleanup.appdata webGUI plugin directory to avoid a conflicting old page. This is not a migration of every legacy plugin setting.

See Settings and Storage for file locations.
