Uninstalling

Tip

Reinstalling, or moving to a new computer? Click Export setup… on the Models page first. Importing that file later brings back your models, keys, step settings, default languages and edited prompts. Folder settings and episode results aren't in it. See Moving to another computer.

Remove the app the usual way for your system:

  • Windows: Settings → Apps → Polygluttony → Uninstall. The uninstaller offers Delete the application data; tick it to remove your settings and keys too.
  • macOS: drag Polygluttony from Applications to the Bin.
  • Linux: delete the AppImage.

On macOS and Linux, and on Windows if you left the box unticked, your settings stay behind. To remove them, delete this folder:

OS Folder
Windows %APPDATA%\uk.blyat.polygluttony, and %LOCALAPPDATA%\uk.blyat.polygluttony
macOS ~/Library/Application Support/uk.blyat.polygluttony
Linux ~/.local/share/uk.blyat.polygluttony

That takes everything with it: your settings, the stored episode results in results/, and any setup-backup-*.zip left by an import.

Important

That folder holds your API keys, in config.json and in every setup-backup-*.zip. Delete it if you're giving the computer away, and revoke the keys at your provider if you no longer need them.

Your subtitle folders

Uninstalling doesn't touch them. Your translations and glossary.json stay where they are, and so do the files Polygluttony keeps beside them:

Delete To remove
The .polygluttony folder The glossary's NEW tags, history and notes. It's hidden on macOS and Linux: press Cmd+Shift+. in Finder, or Ctrl+H in most Linux file managers, to see it.
glossary-reference.json Terms taken from your translated episodes
glossary.prev.json Only in folders used with 2.x: the old glossary backup

Keep glossary.json if you might want the glossary again. A reinstalled Polygluttony picks it up as it is.
