Building Blocks
These are the plain secret blocks: a full block, a block you can walk through, stairs, a slab, a one-way window and a block you can climb inside. Each one wears a disguise copied from the block you place it against. See How disguises work.

- Every side looks like the disguise.
- They sound, mine and stand up to explosions like the block they look like. Each always drops itself, even mined by hand. See How disguises work.
- The outline you see when you look at one is always a full block, so it never shows the block's real shape.
- Pistons push and pull them, and the disguise moves with them.
- They hold no items. Hoppers and droppers treat them like stone.
The basic secret block, and the base of most other secret blocks.
On a crafting table, put wool (any color) in the four corners and the center, and Camouflage Paste in the four edge slots. This makes 4 Dummy Blocks. See Crafting.
- A plain, solid, full block that looks like its disguise.
- Each of its six sides can wear a different block. Use the Switch Probe to change one side.
- It copies only the look of its disguise. A Dummy Block that looks like glowstone gives no light.
There is no vanilla Dummy Block. It sounds and mines like the block it copies, but it always drops itself, even where that block would need a tool (stone mined by hand, for example). The Builder's Goggles show it only as its faded disguise, and the Camouflage Wand cannot turn it into a vanilla block.
A block that looks solid but is not there for anything that moves.
The same layout as the Dummy Block, with scaffolding in place of wool: scaffolding in the four corners and the center, Camouflage Paste in the four edge slots. This makes 4 Ghost Blocks.
- It looks like its disguise, but it has no collision.
- You, mobs and dropped items pass through it and fall through it.
- You can stand inside it without suffocating.
- You can still look at it, break it and place blocks against it.
- Use it for fake walls, hidden passages and floors that drop whoever steps on them.
There is no vanilla block like it. The Builder's Goggles show it only as its faded disguise, and the Camouflage Wand cannot turn it into a vanilla block.

Stairs that look like a full block.
Dummy Block + any stairs, in any slots. This makes 1 Secret Stairs.
- It is drawn as a full block of its disguise, but you walk on it as on stairs.
- You place it like vanilla stairs. The step rises away from you, and it goes upside down when you click the top half of a side or the underside of a block.
- Next to other stairs it turns into corner shapes, like vanilla stairs. It keeps its disguise when its shape changes.
- A row of them makes a staircase that looks like a solid wall or a pile of blocks. You can step into the open part of each step, which looks solid.
- It looks like a full block of its disguise, not like stairs.
- Its outline is a full block, not a stair shape.
- It sounds and mines like its disguise, not like the stairs it was made from.
- The Builder's Goggles show it as oak stairs. The Camouflage Wand turns it into oak stairs, or back into the stairs it was made from with the wand.

A slab that looks like a full block.
Dummy Block + any slab, in any slots. This makes 1 Secret Slab.
- It is drawn as a full block of its disguise, but you collide with it as with a slab.
- You place it in the bottom or top half of the space by where you click, like a vanilla slab.
- On a bottom slab you stand half a block down, sunk into what looks like a full block.
- A top slab is solid only in the upper half of the space.
- Pistons move a single slab and a double slab alike.
- Place a second Secret Slab into a single one, as you would with vanilla slabs.
- The two become a double slab: a solid full block.
- The double slab keeps the disguise of the slab that was already there.
- Breaking a double slab drops two Secret Slabs.
- It looks like a full block of its disguise, not like a slab.
- Its outline is a full block.
- It sounds and mines like its disguise, not like the slab it was made from.
- The Builder's Goggles show it as an oak slab. The Camouflage Wand turns it into an oak slab, or back into the slab it was made from with the wand.

A window on one side, a wall on the other.
Dummy Block + Camouflage Paste + glass, in any slots. This makes 1 One Way Glass.
- When you place it, the side facing you becomes glass. The other five sides take the disguise.
- Placed normally, the glass goes on a side, never on the top or bottom: the side that faces back toward you, by the way you are facing.
- Sneak while you place it to put the glass on the top or the bottom. The glass goes on the face toward you along your look: look down at a floor and it is on top, look up at a ceiling and it is underneath. Use it for a floor you can watch through from above, or a ceiling you can watch through from below.
- From the glass side you see through the block.
- From any other side it looks like its disguise and hides what is behind it.
- It is solid. Nothing walks through it.
- Build it into a wall with the glass toward you, and you can watch the other side while it sees only a wall.
There is no vanilla block like it. The Builder's Goggles show it only as its faded disguise, and the Camouflage Wand cannot turn it into a vanilla block.
A Ghost Block you can climb, for hidden shafts.
Ghost Block + ladder, in any slots. This makes 1 Secret Clamber.
- It looks like its disguise, and you walk through it like a Ghost Block. You do not suffocate inside it.
- Inside it you climb as on a ladder.
- Walk into it and you climb down slowly. Hold sneak to stop.
- Jump, or push against the wall around it, to climb up.
- Fill a shaft with a column of Clambers, each placed against the floor around it, and the top of the shaft looks like the floor.
Compared with a ladder:
- It fills the whole block space, and you climb inside it, not against a wall.
- It needs no wall to be placed against.
- It looks like its disguise, not like a ladder.
- It sounds and mines like its disguise, not like a ladder.
- The Builder's Goggles show it only as its faded disguise, and the Camouflage Wand cannot turn it into a vanilla block.
