Peer Mode
If you have two decks (say, a turntable and a CD player), each with its own BGAdaptor, Peer Mode links them so both appear on one Beoremote Halo — page 1 for one deck, page 2 for the other — instead of needing two separate Halos.
Only one of the two adaptors needs a Halo linked to it. That one becomes the "primary" and controls both pages; the second adaptor (the "peer") keeps working completely normally on its own — its web page, Home Assistant entities, and buttons all still work exactly as before, whether or not it's linked as a peer. Only the Beoremote Halo section is greyed out.
On the adaptor that has the Halo connection (the primary):
- Press the box next to Peer on the Control page. A new page opens.
- Click Start adaptor scan to find the other adaptor on your network, or enter its IP address manually.
- Press Save to confirm.
- Optionally turn on Auto-stop — turn this setting on to stop the other deck when one starts.
Both adaptors need to be on the same home network for this to work.
- The peer's deck gets its own page on the Halo, with the same Play/Stop/Next/Previous controls as the primary's own page, matching the selected deck-type on the peer's Control page.
- The peer adaptor's own Halo section is disabled while that's happening (since its controls have moved to the primary's Halo).
- Renaming either adaptor, or changing which type of deck is connected to the peer, updates the Halo page automatically — this takes a moment and the Halo will briefly reload.
If you want to remove the peer, just pick None in the dropdown menu on the Peer page. Remember to press Save to confirm the choice.
Note
- Using the peer's deck's own local controls doesn't automatically stop the primary's deck, even with Auto-stop on.
- If the peer adaptor is temporarily unreachable (WiFi hiccup, powered off), button presses aimed at it may be dropped rather than queued up — this is intentional, so a stuck connection can't freeze the rest of the Halo.
