Auto-Expand to Another Speaker

Auto-Expand automatically pushes sound to a second speaker whenever you start playing on the deck, and lets it go again when you stop. This is especially useful in cases where you connect the deck to a product without built-in speakers (e.g. Beosound or Beoconnect Core).

Setting it up

  1. On the Control page, press show Settings and select the box next to Auto-expand. A new page opens.
  2. Click Start product scan to scan for nearby speakers and pick the one you want to expand to automatically.
  3. Press Save. Now, whenever the deck starts playing, BGAdaptor will tell the "primary" connected B&O product to expand to the product you've just selected. Once the deck goes to standby, the selected auto-expand speaker is removed from the session.

What to expect

Tip

There's a short pause (well under a second) between the deck starting and the second speaker joining — this is normal, it gives your B&O product a moment to confirm the source is actually playing before pulling another speaker in.

If you want to remove the auto-joined speaker later, just pick None in the dropdown menu on the Auto-expand page. Remember to press Save to confirm the choice.
