Apex (Hunting)

Apex Hunts are a high-stakes endgame activity unlocked at Level 90. You enter dangerous themed zones to hunt powerful Apex monsters, extract their essence as imprints into your Soul Stone, and use zone-specific shards to upgrade those imprints for permanent combat power.

Access with:

  • /apex — Main lobby (zone selection, charges, progress).
  • /soul — Direct access to your Soul Stone for imprints and upgrades.

Hunt Charges

You have a pool of 3 hunt charges (max).

  • Charges regenerate every 8 hours (one at a time).
  • The lobby shows your current count and time until the next charge.
  • Each hunt consumes one charge on entry.
  • Defeats still consume the charge.

Zones

There are six zones, each with a signature environmental modifier that affects the fight:

Zone Emoji Shard Type Signature Effect
Ashen Wastes 🔥 Pyre +20% ATK for you; monster Flashfire starts at 4 charges and deals +20% damage
Storm Reach Tempest +15% Crit Chance; every 3rd monster turn, unavoidable lightning for 8% max HP true damage
Iron Citadel 🏰 Bulwark +30% ATK; monster starts with 30% max HP Ward and +30% DR
Eternal Grove 🌿 Verdant Monster regenerates 0.4%/turn; you heal 1% max HP on each connected hit
Golden Vault 💰 Fortune All XP and Gold doubled; every 4th monster turn your Ward is fully drained
Shattered Realm 🌀 Rift Monster's modifier rerolls every 5 turns; 12% chance per turn to force a critical hit on the monster

Shattered Realm is locked until you have at least one win in each of the five base zones.

Each zone drops its own shard type used to upgrade imprints.

How a Hunt Works

  1. Select a zone in the /apex lobby.
  2. Pay one charge and enter combat against a scaled Apex monster (significantly stronger than normal mobs, with the zone's signature modifier applied).
  3. Win or lose the fight (standard combat rules apply, plus zone effects).
  4. On victory:
    • Roll for extraction of a passive from your equipped gear (only max-rank passives are eligible: tier 5 weapon suffixes, any armor passive, high-level accessory/glove/boot/helmet passives, or Infernal passives).
    • Success chance based on number of eligible passives on your gear + corrupted essences + Primal Essence meta shards.
    • Extracted passive goes into an empty (or chosen) Soul Stone slot.
    • Receive zone shards (1–2) + rare meta shards.
  5. On defeat: Small consolation of Soul Fragments (1–3).

Soul Stone & Imprints

Your Soul Stone has three slots. Each slot can hold one imprinted passive (with tier and combat category: Offensive / Defensive / Mixed / Utility).

  • Imprints are permanent until you overwrite them.
  • Resonance: When two or more slots share a category, you gain powerful global bonuses (T2 at 2 matching, T3 at 3 matching). Examples include ATK/DEF multipliers, XP/Gold bonuses, or special effects like "Tyr" (mixed resonance).
  • Resonance is calculated automatically and shown in the Soul Stone view.

Shards & Upgrading Imprints

Each zone drops a specific shard type (Pyre, Tempest, Bulwark, Verdant, Fortune, Rift).

Use shards in the Soul Stone upgrade screen to raise an imprint's tier (1 → 5).

  • Upgrades have success / stay / downgrade chances (improved by meta shards like Engorged Heart or Condensed Blood).
  • Higher tiers make the passive significantly stronger.
  • Meta shards (Sharpened Fang, Engorged Heart, etc.) are rare drops that improve extraction or upgrade odds.

Tips for Success

  • Build around extraction: Stack max-rank passives on your gear before hunting (especially weapons at tier 5 and high-level accessories).
  • Corrupted essences and certain meta shards greatly improve extraction odds.
  • Choose zones based on the shard type you need for your current imprints.
  • Resonance is extremely powerful — aim for 2+ or 3 matching categories.
  • Shattered Realm is the ultimate challenge and drops the rarest shards.
  • Track your per-zone win/loss records in the lobby — progress toward Shattered Realm is visible.
  • Use /soul for quick access when you just want to manage imprints without hunting.

Apex is one of the primary ways to acquire truly unique, high-impact passives that aren't available through normal gear or other systems.

Hunt the apex. Imprint the power. Resonate with victory.
