Maw (Weekly World Boss)

The Maw of Infinity is a recurring, community-driven weekly world boss. Unlike normal combat or Uber fights, you cannot kill the Maw — the goal is to contribute as much damage as possible over the course of the week for personal and global rewards.

Accessed with /maw (unlocks at Level 20).

Cycle Structure

  • A new cycle begins every Sunday at 12:00 UTC.
  • The active fighting window lasts approximately 5.5 days (ends Saturday at 00:00 UTC).
  • After the fighting window closes, there is a collection window until the next Sunday 12:00 UTC, during which participants can claim their rewards from the just-ended cycle.
  • The Maw is a global event — every player on the server contributes to the same damage pool.

The in-game /maw menu clearly shows:

  • Time remaining in the current phase
  • Number of participating warriors
  • Total damage dealt this cycle
  • Your personal contribution and fight status

How to Participate

  1. Use /maw.
  2. During the active cycle, the "Fight the Maw" button becomes available (subject to limits).
  3. On your first fight of the cycle you are automatically signed up as a participant.
  4. Each fight consists of a fixed 10-turn encounter against The Infinite Maw.
    • The Maw has a massive HP pool (99,999) that resets to full every turn — it cannot be killed. This is purely a damage contribution event.
    • You fight using the same combat rules as normal encounters: all your weapon/armor/accessory/glove/boot/helmet passives, essences, corrupted essences, Paradise jewels, Codex tomes, companions, active partner, and Soul Stone effects apply.
    • Jewel charges are reset at the start of the encounter (same as regular /combat).
  5. Your damage from the 10 turns is recorded and added to both your personal total and the global cycle total.

Fight Limits

  • Maximum 5 fights per cycle.
  • 20-hour cooldown between fights (shown on the button and in the embed).
  • The menu always displays how many fights you have left and when your next one is available.

Rewards

Rewards are not granted automatically at the end of the cycle. You must return during the collection window and press the "Collect Rewards" button.

Rewards for a cycle are calculated based on:

  • Your personal damage dealt
  • Your percentage of the total damage across all participants
  • Whether you placed in the global Top 3 by damage

Base rewards (everyone who participated):

  • 3 Curios
  • 10 Guild Tickets (used for partner gacha / guild features)

Pool share:

  • A communal curio pool that grows with participation: 10 + 11 + 12 + … (one extra curio per additional warrior).
  • You receive a proportional share of this pool based on your damage percentage.

Top 3 bonus:

  • The three highest damage contributors for the cycle also receive 1 Curio Puzzle Box each.

Rewards scale meaningfully with both raw damage and your relative contribution. High personal investment (strong gear, good passives, consistent fights) combined with server-wide participation produces the best payouts.

Uncollected rewards from the previous cycle are clearly previewed in the /maw menu (with an estimate of your curio total).

Tips for Success

  • Consistency matters more than burst: With only 5 fights and a 20h cooldown, plan your fights across the week. Missing the window means lost contribution.
  • Treat each Maw run like a serious build test — the same passives, jewels, and sustain that carry you in Ascent/Codex/Uber will maximize your damage here.
  • Ward and sustain are valuable because the 10-turn format rewards staying alive and dealing steady damage the whole way.
  • Top 3 placement is competitive and usually requires near-max optimization + timing your fights when participation is still ramping or using strong synergies.
  • Guild Tickets feed into the partner system — another reason to treat Maw seriously.
  • Curio Puzzle Boxes are high-value (especially for late-game curios and puzzle content).
  • Check the menu frequently near the end of the active window — the transition to collection can sneak up on you.
  • The event is server-wide; encouraging guildmates and friends to participate increases the pool (and thus everyone's potential rewards) while making Top 3 harder.

Related Systems

  • Commands/maw entry point.
  • Getting Started — Early mention of the weekly world boss.
  • Companions and Partners — Guild Tickets are spent in the partner gacha system.
  • Curios and puzzle boxes (rewards and the top-3 bonus).
  • Paradise and endgame loops — Maw is one of the steady sources of curios and puzzle boxes that feed other systems.
  • Compare with Uber Bosses (pinnacle individual challenges) and Ascent / Codex (personal progression towers).

The Maw rewards long-term build investment and consistent participation rather than one-shot power spikes. It is one of the best recurring sources of curios and guild tickets in the game.
