Getting Started with Idleology

Welcome to Idleology — a deep, text-based idle RPG played entirely inside Discord.

Build your character, gear up with powerful equipment, master combat, and push into challenging endgame systems like the Ascent and Codex. Everything happens through clean slash commands and interactive menus.

How to Begin

1. Register Your Character

Use the command:

/register <your name>

This creates your adventurer profile. You only need to do this once.

2. Check Your Profile

  • /card — View your profile card (quick overview)
  • /stats — See detailed statistics
  • /inventory — Check what you're carrying

3. Start Fighting

The core activity in Idleology is combat.

Use:

/combat

Combat uses a stamina system:

  • You have up to 10 stamina.
  • If you have stamina remaining, fights happen immediately (consuming 1 stamina).
  • When stamina hits 0, a 10-minute cooldown applies (can be reduced by Speedster boot/soul stone passive, minimum 10 seconds).
  • Stamina regenerates over time; War Camp in your Settlement can also generate combat stamina.

Each fight gives you XP, gold, and a chance at equipment drops (plus potential monster parts, essences, etc.).

Tip

Combat is the fastest way to level up early on. Manage your stamina and use /cooldowns to track timers. The Speedster passive (boots or Soul Stone) is excellent QoL for frequent fighters.

The Core Gameplay Loop

Most players follow this rhythm:

  1. Fight monsters with /combat (stamina-based or 10-min cooldown when out of stamina)
  2. Gear up using the equipment commands
  3. Upgrade your gear (forge, refine, temper, add essences, etc.)
  4. Level your skills (Mining, Fishing, Woodcutting, Alchemy, Slayer)
  5. Manage Companions & Partners for bonuses
  6. Rest & recover when needed (/rest)
  7. Claim daily rewards with /checkin

As you level up, more systems unlock (Uber at 70, Apex at 90, Ascent/Codex at 100, etc.). Stamina and cooldown management become key.
