Install Tools
The most common way to install Tools on the current Galaxy
version (19.09) of Naturalis:
- clone the git repo
- conda environment is specified in .xml
If an environment has lots of dependencies (or only a few packages are
needed from a channel) it can be created with a .yml file:
conda env create -f my_env.yml
If you have created a conda environment manually, you can save it as a .yml file
to recreate the same env elsewhere. With the env activated:
conda env export > my_env.yml
With the current setup of Galaxy, conda environments are stored in:
/opt/anaconda3/envs/
Make sure to have permissions for at least that folder, if you need to
create new environments. It's most practical to change the group ownership
of all files in the (parent) folder to conda_group recursively, and give
full permissions:
sudo chgrp -R conda_group /opt
sudo chmod -R g+rwx /opt
