Animals
Ordinary (or almost-ordinary) creatures rather than D&D-flavored monsters — ambient wildlife with a bit of extra bite. This page covers the currently documented members; more will be added here over time.
HP: 8 | Attack: 1.5 | Speed: fast (in water)
A lean, toothy fish that only turns predator once it's in its element.
It attacks aggressively on sight — no provocation needed — but only while it's actually submerged. Caught on land, it just flops toward the nearest water to escape rather than fighting back.
- Water-locked aggression — only attacks while in water; harmless (and fleeing) on land.
- Always hostile — unlike most fish, it targets players on sight.
Rivers — that's the only place it spawns.
HP: 8 | Attack: 1 | Speed: normal
A small, low-slung vermin that skitters around in the dark and bites at anything that comes near.
On its own a Rat is barely a nuisance — a single bite of chip damage. The catch is they rarely come alone; they spawn in small groups, so a corner of a dark cave can put two or three of them gnawing at your ankles at once.
- Swarms — spawns in small packs rather than singly, so the threat is being surrounded, not any one bite.
- Always hostile — attacks players on sight in melee.
Anywhere in the Overworld, in groups of up to three — most likely to turn up in the dark.
