Gargoyle Family
Stone-skinned winged humanoids that stalk on foot before launching into flight to close the distance. This page covers the currently documented members; more gargoyle variants exist in GMM and will be added here over time.

HP: 25 | Attack: 4 | Armor: 4 | Speed: normal (flying)
A stone-skinned winged brute that stalks you on the ground, then launches airborne to close the distance before diving in to strike.
It walks like any grounded hunter until it decides to close in — then it launches into flight, arcs toward you, and lands right on top of you to melee. Its stone hide shrugs off poison entirely and can't be slowed to more than a mild chill.
- Launch-and-strike flight — breaks into flight to close distance on a distant target, then lands to melee rather than fighting airborne.
- Poison immune — completely unaffected by Poison.
- Barely slowed — shrugs off anything beyond a mild Slowness, the closest vanilla stand-in for "practically petrified."
Anywhere in the Overworld — a fairly common flier.
HP: 30 | Attack: 4.5 | Armor: 5 | Speed: normal (flying)
A subterranean cousin of the Gargoyle that can't really fly — it only hovers about a block off the ground, low enough to skim under tight dungeon and sewer ceilings.
It closes distance the same way a Gargoyle does — breaking into flight and landing on top of you to melee — just kept low to the ground the whole way in. Unlike the Gargoyle, it has no special resistance to poison or slowing; whatever you'd land on an ordinary monster works exactly as well here.
- Launch-and-strike flight — skims low to close distance on a distant target, then lands to melee rather than fighting airborne.
- Low ceiling clearance — never rises more than about a block off the ground, fitting where a true flier couldn't.
Anywhere in the Overworld.
