Orc Family

Burly humanoid raiders that fight in melee, at range, or with actual spellcraft depending on the variant. This page covers the currently documented members; more orc variants exist in GMM and will be added here over time.

Orc

HP: 25  |  Attack: 3.25  |  Armor: 2  |  Speed: normal

A burly raider that usually closes to melee with a real weapon, but some turn up empty-handed and throw rocks instead.

The threat: no two are quite alike

Every Orc rolls its own random bonuses to health, damage, armor, and knockback at spawn, so the one you're fighting might hit noticeably harder or shrug off more than the last one did. A minority skip melee weapons entirely and lob rocks from a distance, backing off to keep their range instead of charging in.

Abilities

  • Weapon or rock — most fight with a real weapon (sword, axe, or club) in melee; roughly 1 in 7 instead go weaponless and throw rocks from range, retreating to keep their distance.
  • Randomized stats — each spawn permanently rolls its own bonus to health, attack, armor, and knockback, so encounters vary.
  • Occasional armor — a chance to spawn wearing a leather chestplate.

Where to find them

Anywhere in the Overworld — a common threat.

Orc Shaman

HP: 12  |  Attack: 1.5  |  Armor: 2  |  Speed: normal

A spellcasting Orc that never closes to melee if it can help it — it holds its ground and casts Spike Growth from range instead.

The threat: weaker alone, dangerous at range

Caught at melee range, it's noticeably frailer than a plain Orc and fights with bare fists — it never carries a weapon on purpose. But it holds its distance and backs away if you close in, peppering you with Spike Growth the whole time. Let it keep its range and it's a real threat; corner it and it's the easiest Orc in the roster.

Abilities

  • Spike Growth — casts a spell that erupts a row of ground spikes toward its target from range.
  • Stands its ground — actively repositions to keep distance rather than closing to melee, only fighting bare-fisted if cornered.
  • Never armed — always empty-handed, relying entirely on its spell.

Where to find them

Anywhere in the Overworld — notably rarer than a plain Orc.
