Settings
Open Settings with /iesettings or the cog in the plugin window's title bar. Changes are saved as you make
them.
Run setup again (top right) reopens the first-time setup to review the cache, Blender, texture editor and Substance Painter setup.
- Blender: every Blender found on your PC, with the add-on version installed in each. Buttons to Install add-on, Update add-on or Reinstall add-on, Start Blender, and Add a Blender that isn't listed. Blender must be closed while the add-on installs.
-
Texture editor: the program textures open in. Pick one that was found, or choose any program's
.exe. For Photoshop, GIMP and Krita: Install save scripts or Update save scripts. - Substance Painter (optional): Paint textures in Substance Painter turns on the paint-roller button, the Painter status dot and Painter projects in Sessions. Install Painter plugin / Update Painter plugin, and the Painter program to start when you send a model while Painter is closed.
- Cache folder: where the plugin and the Blender add-on exchange model files, and where texture edits keep their working files. Pick a drive with a few GB free.
- Automatic cache cleanup: removes finished model transfers and inactive texture sessions older than 24 hours, and Game Files exports in the cache after 7 days. Active sessions and unsaved texture edits are kept.
- Skeleton library (for animations): a list of every full skeleton in your mods, used to find the skeleton an animation was made for. It's built once and only rebuilt when you press Rebuild skeleton library. Do that after installing, updating or removing skeleton mods. It also tells you when files it knows have changed since.
- Refresh On Screen when Penumbra or Glamourer changes: reloads the On Screen list a second after a mod setting changes or a character is redrawn. Turn off to refresh only with the button.
- Render model thumbnails on hover: the small 3D view in a model's hover card (Dawntrail models). Texture and material previews always show.
- Show notifications: warnings, errors and "sent to Blender" messages also appear as Dalamud notifications, even while the window is closed.
The plugin, Blender and Substance Painter talk to each other over local ports. Only change these when another program already uses one.
- Blender port: must match Blender Listen Port in the add-on's preferences in Blender (42424 by default).
- Listener port: where Blender and Substance Painter send their exports back to the plugin.
- Painter port: where the plugin inside Substance Painter listens.
Settings you change often are in the plugin window itself, under the sliders button in the toolbar: model import options, texture recompression and animation export. See A tour of the plugin window.
