Flash a node

Luke Switzer edited this page Oct 26, 2026 · 1 revision

You flash AntiHunter from your browser, with nothing to install. You can also build it from source.

From the browser

  1. Open the Web Flasher in Chrome or Edge on a desktop. Other browsers cannot flash.
  2. Attach all three antennas before you power on the node.
  3. Plug the node into USB.
  4. Pick a channel: Stable, Beta, or Experimental — XIAO ESP32-C5.
  5. Pick Full (with the web UI) or Headless (mesh and serial only). See Full or Headless.
  6. Tick Erase device for a clean flash. This makes a new erase key; write it down when the flasher shows it.
  7. Select Connect & Flash and choose the serial port.

From the command line

curl -fsSL -o flashAntihunter.sh https://raw.githubusercontent.com/lukeswitz/AntiHunter/main/Dist/flashAntihunter.sh
chmod +x flashAntihunter.sh
./flashAntihunter.sh # -e erases first, -c sets device parameters, -l lists firmware

To build and flash from source, see Build from source.

After flashing

Set the LoRa region, or the radio never transmits. See Meshtastic radio setup. Then lock down the defaults before you deploy.

If the flasher does not see the node

Use Chrome or Edge on a desktop; phone browsers and other desktop browsers cannot flash. Try a different USB cable, since some are charge-only. Close any serial monitor that is holding the port.
