The node's settings are under the System tab. This page covers the ones that change how scans behave. Feature-specific settings are on each feature's page.
A preset sets how long the node listens on each channel and how often it scans. Pick one under System → Settings → Scanning.
| Preset | Time per channel | Wi-Fi scan every | Bluetooth scan every | Signal floor |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Relaxed | 300 ms | 5 s | 6 s | −80 dBm |
| Balanced (default) | 160 ms | 3 s | 4 s | −95 dBm |
| Aggressive | 110 ms | 1.5 s | 2 s | −100 dBm |
Relaxed saves power and misses brief signals. Aggressive hears more and uses more power.
-
Signal filter: the node ignores devices weaker than this. Default −95 dBm. Change it in the web UI, or with
@ALL CONFIG_RSSI:-80. -
Channels: which Wi-Fi channels a hopping scan uses. Default 1 to 11. Change them with
@ALL CONFIG_CHANNELS:1,6,11. - RF environment: how fast the node expects a signal to fade with distance, used by triangulation.
- Heartbeat: the node sends a periodic status to the mesh. Set the interval or turn it off under Node & mesh.
-
Cross-scan dedup: to save airtime, the node does not resend a device it sent in the last 5 minutes. Change it with
@ALL CONFIG_DEDUP_TTL:<seconds>(0 to 3600). Alerts are always sent.
Battery Saver stops scanning and sends only a heartbeat. Turn it on under Sensors & power, or with @AH01 BATTERY_SAVER_START:10 for a 10-minute heartbeat.
The mesh command reference lists every config command.
