Status: experimental (built, not tried on a board). Labels: 1000. Release file: openesl-ap-esp32c5-n16r8-<version>.bin
An ESP32-C5 with 16 MB flash and 8 MB PSRAM, such as the Waveshare ESP32-C5-WIFI6-KIT. About 10–15 $.
- More labels: the PSRAM gives room for 1000 labels.
- Bigger layouts: twice the lines of text, boxes, lines and icons per layout of a C6 (Layout elements and limits).
- Weather by itself: it can fetch the weather for labels from MET Norway.
- WiFi on 5 GHz if you want it, which keeps 2.4 GHz free for the labels.
- Same radio code as the C6, and still one chip, so WiFi and the label radio still take turns.
- Antenna on the module, or external through u.FL on the WROOM-1U.
- It is newer and less common than the C6.
From the web page, the ESP32-C5 board. If you try it, please tell us how it went.
