Editing and Regenerating
On a naviList playlist, click Edit rules. You get the same builder you used to create it, filled in with the playlist's current rules, blocks, conditions, track limit and schedule.
- Change what you like. The name at the top can be changed too.
- Click Preview to see the tracks the new rules produce. Remove any you don't want with the ✕.
- Click Save Playlist.
The playlist in Navidrome is replaced with exactly the tracks in the preview, and the new rules are stored. You return to where you came from, the list or the playlist's own page. Cancel takes you back too, without saving.
Regenerate rebuilds a playlist from the rules it already has, with no editor. It asks you to confirm first, because the rebuild can add new tracks and replace ones currently on the playlist, including any you added or kept by hand.
After you confirm it rebuilds and refreshes where you are. From the list you stay on the list. On a playlist's page, the track list updates in place.
Regenerate is also what a scheduled refresh does. See Auto-Refresh.
You can still add and remove tracks yourself. Open the playlist and use + Add tracks, or the ✕ next to a track. Those changes last until the next regenerate or scheduled refresh, which rebuilds the whole playlist from its rules. If you want to keep hand-picked tracks, turn off auto-refresh for that playlist and don't regenerate it.
Delete removes the playlist from Navidrome and from naviList.
Earlier versions could deactivate a playlist, which removed it from Navidrome but kept it in naviList. That feature was removed in 1.0. See Upgrading to 1.0 for what happened to playlists that were deactivated.
