ListenBrainz and Last.fm Playlists

naviList can bring generated playlists from ListenBrainz and Last.fm into Navidrome, using only tracks you own.

What you need

A ListenBrainz token, or a Last.fm API key and username, saved on the Settings page. Run Sync All for the service on the Services page so naviList can fetch the current playlists. See Integrations.

What's offered

ListenBrainz generates playlists for you, such as Weekly Jams, Weekly Exploration and Daily Jams.

Last.fm playlists are built from your charts: the weekly chart, and top tracks for the last 7 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months and all time.

Two ways to use one

Click + New Playlist, choose ListenBrainz or Last.fm, and you see the available playlists, each with its track count and how many are in your library.

  • Subscribe adds the playlist to Navidrome and keeps it up to date. Rotating playlists, whose contents change each week or day, are marked ↻ Rotating. Every service sync replaces the playlist's tracks with the current ones. Click ✓ Subscribed again to unsubscribe.
  • Save (Last.fm) or the snapshot option (ListenBrainz) makes a permanent copy as a normal playlist that never changes. You name it when you save.

Tracks you don't have

Only tracks that match something in your library can go in the playlist. The ones that don't are shown with Not in library. Artists you're missing are collected, and you can send them to Lidarr. See Integrations.

Matching uses MusicBrainz IDs, artist aliases and normalised names, so alternate spellings usually still match.

Good to know

  • Deleting a subscribed playlist in naviList ends the subscription.
  • If ListenBrainz is down during a sync, subscriptions are left alone. Nothing is deleted and the playlist keeps its last tracks.
  • A subscription playlist's tracks are replaced on every sync, so don't hand-edit it. Make a snapshot first if you want something to keep.
