Importing Playlists
Import a playlist file and naviList matches its tracks against your library, then creates the playlist in Navidrome from the ones it finds.
| Format | From |
|---|---|
| M3U | most media players |
| JSPF | the JSON playlist format used by ListenBrainz and others |
| Exportify CSV | exportify.net, for Spotify playlists |
| naviList CSV | a naviList export |
| naviList JSON | a naviList export |
Spotify can't be connected directly. Export a Spotify playlist through Exportify, then import the CSV here.
- Click + New Playlist, choose Import, then Continue.
- Pick the file type and choose the file. The name is filled in from the file name. Change it if you like.
- Click Import.
- Review the matches below, then click Save Playlist.
naviList only ever matches against tracks you already have. Each row of the file goes through these steps, in order:
- Exact: same artist and title, or the same MusicBrainz ID when the file has one.
- Normalised: same once accents, punctuation and apostrophes are ignored. These rows show matched ≈.
- Fuzzy: a close match that needs your eye.
Every row shows how it was matched:
- matched and matched ≈ are ready. You don't need to do anything.
- review means naviList found one or more close candidates. It shows a dropdown of the best songs with a confidence score, already set to the top pick. Accept it, choose a different one, or choose leave unmatched.
- Not in library means nothing close was found. You can use Browse library on the row to pick a track yourself. It then shows manual.
Only candidates above the Fuzzy match threshold are offered. It defaults to 80 and is set under Imports on the Settings page. Raise it for fewer, more accurate suggestions. Lower it to see more guesses.
The preview uses cached data only, so it stays fast. Nothing is looked up on MusicBrainz while you review.
The playlist is created in Navidrome with the tracks you approved. In the background naviList picks the studio copy where your library has several versions of a song. See Studio and Live.
Artists in the file that aren't in your library are noted as missing. See Integrations for sending them to Lidarr.
To go the other way, open a playlist's menu and choose Export: M3U, XSPF, CSV or JSON. See Playlist Types.
