Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) are Internal Revenue Service 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that assist in solving financial problems, which consists of financial education, budgeting assistance, and debt management plans. The National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC), the parent organization, was founded in 1951 to promote credit awareness and financial literacy. From there, several smaller offices opened up as non-profits, which became known as CCCS; each of these offices are independently operated, but under the umbrella of the NFCC.
