Description

Coarse ceramic vessel is a low-fired pottery container used for cooking and storage.

Recipe

Create a coarse clay vessel by knapping 5 pieces of Coarse Clay in the following pattern.

Usage

Coarse ceramic vessel can be used to store fluids as well as items, and it can be used to melt and cook certain materials.

Solid Storage

Coarse ceramic vessel offers 1 inventory slots which can contain up to 64 items of size small or smaller.

Liquid Storage

Coarse ceramic vessel can be used as container with capacity of 500 mB for the following liquids:

  • Fresh water
  • Salt water
  • Concentrated salt water

Primitive cooking

In addition, the following liquids can be created in a coarse ceramic vessel as a result of boiling solid items:

To use wax and glue, place an item into the Coarse ceramic vessel to consume part of the liquid, much like done in a Cooking Pot when making candles by dipping strings into liquid wax.

Liquid tallow solidifies into solid tallow foodstuff that can be simply taken out.

Boiled down salt water becomes crystallized salt. Boiled down concentrated salt water becomes 4 times the amount of crystallized salt.

Crystallized salt cannot be simply taken out and the vessel needs to be broken, leaving behind certain amount of salt.

Likewise vessel containing solidified glue can either be heated up again, or broken, leaving behind a chunk of solidified glue which can be melted later.

Notes

  • Using Coarse ceramic vessel to produce salt is based on common prehistoric practice known as Briquetage.
