Chargers
Which Victron chargers WinterDash can read — and how to tell.
WinterDash reads Victron Blue Smart IP65 chargers over their built-in Bluetooth "Instant Readout" broadcast. (Product page linked for reference.)
![]()
| Charger | Status |
|---|---|
| Blue Smart IP65s 12/5 (and similar IP65 models) | Verified — tested through a full charge cycle (Bulk → Absorption → Float). |
| Other Blue Smart IP65 variants (6 / 12 / 24 V, various amps) | Expected to work — same broadcast format; not every one individually tested. |
Rule of thumb: if your charger offers "Instant Readout" in VictronConnect (firmware 3.61 or newer), it will very likely work. The broadcast carries voltage, current, and the charge stage — but many IP65 models (including the tested 12/5) send no temperature, so that reading may stay blank. That's normal (see Reading your WinterDash).
- Wire it to the vehicle — a permanent quick-connect and fuse, plus the battery-sensor safety note → Charger hookup & wiring.
- Pair it with WinterDash — enter its Instant Readout key once → Connecting your charger.
WinterDash is tested only on the hardware the author owns. Lending or sending a charger is the way to get it verified for real — details and how to reach out are on the Request a board or charger.
