Native RDF

vSMR reads TrackAudio's local feed for radio-direction cues and an optional EuroScope RDF list item. TrackAudio must run on the same computer and publish the transmitting callsign. A matching aircraft/flight plan is required; vSMR does not identify speakers from microphone audio alone.

Enable or disable

Enter .smr rdf on or .smr rdf off. The choice is remembered. Off hides the native overlay immediately; the receiver remains available rather than blocking the UI while waiting for a network worker to stop. On can restore an ongoing transmission.

Control Center → Settings → Native RDF controls the same overlay setting. In the current source, list detection and acknowledgement are independent of this setting, including startup with RDF off. This behavior is included in both main and dev at the documented snapshot.

Ground-aircraft indications are suppressed in SRW according to the scene's airborne classification.

On the native SMR view, an aircraft hidden beneath an inset produces a direction line toward it instead of a ring concealed by the inset.

Ground-aircraft RDF list item

In EuroScope's departure-list setup:

  1. Add vSMR's RDF item.
  2. Set the column width to 2.
  3. Bind left-click to vSMR's RDF reset function.

vSMR does not automatically change list layouts or mouse bindings. This is a EuroScope list/tag item, not a lowercase token to insert into the Control Center's custom tag text.

TX blinks yellow/grey for a transmitting ground aircraft. Several simultaneous speakers are tracked independently. Calls remain pending after transmission ends until acknowledged, so short transmissions are not lost between refreshes.

Left-click resets only that aircraft's local pending indication; it does not edit the flight plan or stop a live RDF ring. A later new transmission relatches TX. Duplicate reception events or an additional frequency during the same call do not undo a reset.

Ground eligibility follows the departure-tag speed threshold: a valid correlated target at no more than 50 kt. This is not a dedicated air/ground sensor. Unknown/controller callsigns, uncorrelated targets, airborne/high-speed aircraft and disconnected flight plans do not retain a pending indication. A TrackAudio reconnect clears live reception state but preserves known ground calls awaiting reset. Restarting/unloading vSMR clears the session.

.smr rdf off leaves TX, blinking and reset active and does not clear pending calls. TrackAudio must remain available. Older builds that predate this fix still require Native RDF enabled for the list item.

If TX stays empty

Check the vSMR item and reset binding, TrackAudio's local feed, exact callsign matching, a correlated radar target and the speed threshold. For an older build without overlay-independent lists, enable Native RDF or install a complete build containing the fix. A separate RDFPlugin is neither required for this item nor a substitute for the TrackAudio feed.

Avoid duplicate overlays

A separately loaded RDFPlugin can draw its own overlay, unaffected by .smr rdf off. Ensure only the intended plug-in draws on the SMR radar display. If the separate RDFPlugin needs changes, consult its maintainer; vSMR does not modify that plugin.

Other radar displays can retain their separate RDF behavior. Test native off/on during an active transmission and while TrackAudio is idle.
