vSMR 2.0

This manual describes vSMR 2.0.4, published in the stable per-file update feed and the next-airac Sector-Files pack. The source is on main. Check GitHub Releases separately for a downloadable ZIP package.

Documentation refreshed on 2026-10-24 for the 2.0.4 source. Older screenshots show the labels and controls of the build in which they were captured; the written descriptions below cover the current stable-feed interface.

vSMR is an airport surface-movement display for 32-bit EuroScope. It combines airport mapping, aircraft targets and tags, runway monitoring, inset tools, and optional controller integrations.

Verify airport, map, profile, runway monitoring, and alerts before controlling. Development and validation-only packages are not official releases.

Current features

  • NOVA, aircraft-silhouette Icon, Triangle and Diamond symbols, configurable trails, normal/detailed tags, and conditional color rules. Tag font sizes are entered in pixels.
  • 161 bundled AVISO GeoJSON files, including the separate LFPO works variant, with shared geometry, labels and groups. New views use Light by default, except LFMN, LFML and LFPO, which use Real. Runway-driven group visibility remains manually overridable until the next runway change.
  • Rendering resolution presets for AVISO and aircraft icons/tags, without resizing menus or other UI.
  • Independent active profiles for each ASR, reusable display modes, and airport-scoped inset presets.
  • Select All in multi-selection editors and confirmed, scoped Reset actions for selected styles and profile sections.
  • RIMCAS runway monitoring that follows EuroScope's active-airport runway selection.
  • AVISO, SRW, Weather and Timer insets on native vSMR and CoFrance v2. Uncorrelated tags can open EuroScope's acquisition menu with either mouse button; SRW tag backgrounds open Assume/Handoff, and timer countdowns are shared across views.
  • Optionally keep the AVISO window's screen position and size across airport/ASR changes while recentering the map on the new airport.
  • Automatically sized METAR detail, down to ICAO/wind/QNH, with the current ATIS letter and frequency when available, all-open-airports or single-airport selection, and paging without enlarging snapped windows.
  • Optional CDM, Ramp Agent and vSID data through EuroScope Plugin Bridge; current vSID rules/areas/automatic-configuration snapshots drive the Runtime Menu.
  • Manual Hoppie PDC and message workflows over CPDLC, native TrackAudio RDF and an optional latched TX list item for ground aircraft heard on open RX frequencies.

The former VACDM HTTP integration and automatic PDC/CDM reminder workflow are no longer available. Detailed change history is maintained in the project changelog; package availability is listed on GitHub Releases.

Manual contents

Images under current-2026-10-06 were captured directly from the installed EuroScope interface, not generated or recreated. They show example user configuration and earlier labels rather than mandatory/default values. Other retained screenshots are examples from earlier builds; current text descriptions take precedence when those differ.
