Always Show Address Field

The address field keeps its background and its bookmark, split view and site buttons, as if you were pointing at it. You can see where the field is and reach the buttons without hovering first.

Why use it

Dia hides the field's frame and buttons until you point at it, so the toolbar can look empty and the buttons are easy to miss.

• Handy if you use the bookmark, split view or site buttons often.
• Skip it if you prefer the quieter toolbar.

Turn it on

Open Dia → Settings → Patches and switch on Always Show Address Field. Or run:

diatweaks enable showAddressField

Works with

Hide Toolbar. The field only shows while the toolbar does.

Does it show the full address?

That's Dia's own setting, and this tweak leaves it as it is.
