Drag Window from Page

Jace edited this page Nov 6, 2026 · 2 revisions

Drag an empty spot near the top of a page to move the window, like a title bar. With the toolbar and sidebar hidden, a page's own header is often all there is to grab.

Drag Window from Page

Why use it

With the toolbar and sidebar hidden, Dia has no title bar to grab, so moving the window is awkward.

Use it with the toolbar or sidebar hidden, or any time you want a bigger target to drag from. Nothing changes for links, buttons or text near the top.

Turn it on

Open Dia → Settings → Patches and switch on Drag Window from Page. Or run:

diatweaks enable dragWindowFromPage

FAQ

Which parts of a page can I drag?

Anywhere in the top 56 points of the page where the pointer is a plain arrow. Links and buttons show a hand and text shows an I-beam, so those stay clickable and selectable as usual.

Can I still click those empty spots?

Yes. If you let go without moving, the page gets the click as normal.

Does it work with tabs at the top?

Yes, in both layouts, with or without the toolbar.
