Feature requests and bug reports
Feature requests, suggestions for changes, and bug reports are welcome. Use Privateer GitHub Issues so requests and their progress can be tracked in one place.
- Sign in to GitHub and open Privateer Issues.
- Search existing open and closed issues for the same topic. If one already covers it, add useful details there.
- Choose New issue and follow any template offered. Use a clear title, such as “Feature request: filter ships by status” or “Bug: Aircraft Manager closes unexpectedly.”
- Describe the request using the guidance below, then submit it. Keep unrelated requests in separate issues so each can be discussed and tracked.
Explain what you want to accomplish, how Privateer currently handles it, and what you would like to happen instead. Include:
- The affected manager or workflow.
- A practical example of when the change would help.
- Any suggested controls, behavior, or screenshots that make the idea clearer.
- Your Privateer version if the suggestion concerns existing behavior.
You do not need to know how to implement the change. Describing the problem and desired result is enough to start a discussion.
Include as much of the following as you can:
- Your Privateer version, RTW3 version, and Windows version.
- The affected manager and the steps needed to reproduce the problem.
- What you expected to happen and what actually happened.
- The exact error message, plus a screenshot if useful.
- Whether it happens consistently, affects one campaign or several, and occurs before or after saving or advancing a turn in RTW3.
- Any relevant edits you made to the campaign before the problem appeared.
If a save is needed to reproduce the issue, retain an unchanged copy and describe which campaign state demonstrates the problem. Share a copy rather than your only working save. Remove personal information from screenshots and attachments before posting publicly.
You can email PrivateerEditor@gmail.com with your feature request, change suggestion, or bug report if you are unable to submit it through GitHub. Include the same details listed above so the request can be understood and investigated.
