Galactic War Overhaul (GWO) rebuilds Galactic War in Planetary Annihilation: TITANS. This wiki documents version 7.4.1 for players: what every setting, card, and faction does, in the game's own names and numbers.
- Factions with character. Legonis Machina fields vehicles, Foundation air and naval, Synchronous bots, Revenants orbital, and the new Cluster faction holds the ground with Angels and Colonels. Every enemy commander has its own model, personality, and colour. See Factions.
- Nine difficulties from Beginner to Uber, plus a Custom tier with every setting exposed. See Difficulty.
- Three AI brains, Titans, Queller, and Penchant, chosen per race and separately for enemies and allies. See AI Brains.
- The enemy uses tech. Deeper systems hold buffed enemies, and the panel tells you which buffs. See AI Tech.
- Planetary Intelligence on the galaxy map: threat, tech, modes, factions, and personalities before you commit. See Planetary Intelligence.
- Every game mode: Bounties, Land Anywhere, Sudden Death, and Eradicate, plus FFA systems, allied Commanders, and bosses with shared armies. See Game Modes.
- Eight game options including Hardcore and Unique Races. See Game Options.
- 232 cards: 23 loadouts and over 150 new tech cards, with the base game's card errors fixed. See Tech Cards.
- A guaranteed loadout to unlock every war, defended by The Guardians, who turn your own technology against you. See Loadouts.
- Co-op for every feature, including per-player loadouts, tech, and races. See Co-op.
- Races: play as, and against, Legion, Bugs, and Exiles, with Second Wave, Section 17, and Osmech units. See Races and Add-ons.
- The biggest planetary systems unlocked, and the classic pre-release systems alongside the TITANS ones.
Install the mod through the in-game Community Mods. It needs Planetary Annihilation: TITANS, and Community Mods installs its one dependency, Mod Translations, alongside it.

Two words on this wiki are easy to confuse:
- Your faction is the side you fight for: Legonis Machina, Foundation, Synchronous, Revenants, or Cluster. It decides who your enemies and allies are, where your Sub Commanders come from, and your colours. See Factions.
- Your race is the set of units you build: MLA, the base game's units, or Legion, Bugs, or Exiles from a server mod. See Races and Add-ons.
Any faction can field any race, except that a Cluster player is always MLA. The Glossary defines the other terms the wiki uses.
Install these through Community Mods like GWO itself.
- Shared Systems for Galactic War, which replaces generated systems with real maps
- AI Chat, whose AI allies report to you in team chat (type "report" for a status report)
- Show AI Personality Names, which shows each AI's personality in place of its name on the player list
- Galactic War Server Mods, which enables races and map packs
- Bigger Galactic War, which adds four larger galaxy sizes
Legion Expansion, Bugs Faction, Exiles Faction, Second Wave Expansion, Section 17 - Endgame Units, and Osmech. See Races and Add-ons.
These mods change the same Galactic War screens or unit files that GWO changes, so one of the two stops working. Old unit mods also break on the current version of PA.
- Aurora Artillery
- Challenge Levels for galactic war
- Enemy ramp for galactic war
- Galactic War Unique Loadouts
- More Pew Pew
- Section of Foreign Intelligence for galactic war
- Selection and combat grouping mods, such as Air Scout Select, Land scout combat grouping, Combat Colonel selection, and Better Combat Selection
- FX mods such as PA-FX Titans, PA-FX Classic, and Bigger Explosions
- Nik's mod pack and Classic Systems for GW
- Any client mod that modifies unit files and has not been updated since 12 June 2023
The Galactic War Overhaul panel on the galaxy map lists any incompatible mod it finds enabled.
GWO's text is translated into German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. They are shown by the Mod Translations mod, which GWO requires; without it, GWO's text is English. To fix a translation, join the Galactic War Overhaul project on Playglot.
