Planetary Intelligence
Select any enemy system on the galaxy map and the Planetary Intelligence panel tells you what waits there, so you can choose your route with open eyes.
| Field | Tooltip or meaning |
|---|---|
| Surface Area | The total surface of every planet in the system in square kilometres, gas giants excluded |
| Threat Level | The sum of every enemy army's economy. A shared army of N Commanders counts as (N + 1) ÷ 2. Contesting factions add theirs. An allied Commander halves it. Every AI Tech buff raises it by 10% to 50%. The Guardians triple it |
| Available Tech | "This card will be offered as part of the first draw." See Tech Cards |
| Game Modifiers | The game modes active in this system |
| AI Tech | The buffs the enemy holds here. Tooltip "Applied to AI commanders and units preferred by the faction." |
| Factions | One heading per faction present, listing its Commanders. A shared army shows xN after its name. Hover a heading for its playstyle: "Prefers vehicles." and the like, "A mystery." for The Guardians, and "Fights for you." for an ally. An allied faction is marked ALLY. More than one enemy faction means an FFA |
| Personality | The playstyle of each Commander, and its Penchant flavour when that brain is in use. See AI Brains. Some are better than others, and it is up to you to work out which |
The treasure planet's panel carries its own text instead (see Loadouts). With the System Lore game option on, enemy systems also show one of the pre-release Galactic War histories.
A Threat Level of 1 is about one enemy Commander with the same economy as you and no AI tech. A Threat Level of 3 is about three times that. Compare the Threat Levels of the systems you can reach, and remember that your loadout, cards, and Sub Commanders are not counted.
- A system's star gains an inner ring in the colour of the ally fighting there, or of the first contesting faction.
- Hover a planet for its Radius, Metal Spots or Metal Clusters with their Density, Temperature, and Water Height, plus icons for a starting planet and for a planet with thrusters.
- Unexplored systems can be pinged in co-op (see Co-op).
A second panel on the galaxy map records how the war was created:
- Mod and War, the mod version now and the version the war began on
- Seed
- Difficulty and Size
- Opponent AI and Ally AI, per race when they differ
- Deck
- Options
- Co-Op Settings
- Incompatible Mods, listing any that are enabled
- Missing Races and Missing Map Packs, which block Fight until the mods are back
- your faction, your commander, and your Sub Commanders with their personalities
Pressing Fight shows "Preparing for battle" with its stages. If a launch fails, Fight is re-enabled.
